Dr. Pooja Khator embarked on her academic journey at the University of Miami, where she earned her undergraduate degree under the prestigious Henry King Stanford Scholarship. She furthered her education at the University of Miami School of Medicine, where she not only obtained her medical degree but also demonstrated leadership as the President and Editor-In-Chief of the medical school newspaper, Fovea. Following her internship in preliminary medicine at the University of Florida, Dr. Khator pursued advanced training at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore.
During her tenure at Maryland General Hospital, Dr. Khator distinguished herself as Chief Resident of Ophthalmology and assumed a leadership role as the resident leader of the Hospital Ethics Committee. Her dedication to excellence and ethical practice shone through in all her endeavors.
Dr. Khator sought specialized training in glaucoma management and surgery at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, an institution consistently recognized as the nation’s top eye hospital by U.S. News and World Report.
In 2006, she brought her expertise and commitment to Coastal Eye Institute, where she continues to make significant contributions to the field of ophthalmology.
