A Foundation of Educational Excellence
Dr. Kimberly Lyden graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Business Administration. She earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, where she also completed a scholarly concentration in International Medicine.
During medical school, she held several leadership roles with Tampa Bay Street Medicine, including Clinic Director and Vice President. She received the Excellence in Public Health Award from the United States Public Health Service and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Lyden completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida, where she served as Chief Resident and took part in ophthalmic research. She is currently completing a glaucoma fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, which she expects to finish in June 2027.
Having grown up in Sarasota, she is excited to return home and serve her community when she joins Coastal Eye Institute in September 2027.
