Dr. George Peters received his medical degree at the University of Vermont and his ophthalmology residency at Albany Medical college, where he was appointed Chief Resident. Dr. Peters completed specialty fellowship-training in Uveitis at Johns Hopkins and fellowship-training in Vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Edinburgh. Since completing his training, Dr. Peters has served as a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He has published multiple scientific papers concerning the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis and retinal diseases.

Dr. Peters is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellowship trained retina specialist.

Dr. Peters joined Coastal Eye Institute in 2020.
